Herbs to grow

When it comes to herbs, you can grow many of them yourself. Or buy them from someone who does.

Like his father Tom DeBaggio who had a wonderful Arlington herb farm, his son also sells more herbs than you knew existed, at his Chantilly farm. Call 703 327 6976 for a catalog, months of opening and directions. More than 20 kinds of basil, 10 varieties of rosemary, various thymes, mints, French fines herbes, Italian and Asian flavoring plants are on sale from the end of March until high summer.

The Greenhouse at the National Cathedral also sells a wide variety of unusual and common herbs in pots.
