Home-made yogurt

It's not hard to make your own yogurt. And it tastes a good deal better than some of the big name brand stuff that passes itself off as plain yogurt in the supermarket.

1/4 powdered milk
3 1/2 cups milk (any type of cow, goat or sheep's milk)
2 tablespoons of live yogurt

Stir the milk into the powdered milk. (Adding powdered milk produces a thicker finished yogurt.) Bring the milk to the boil, stirring once or twice.

Allow the milk to cool to the point where you can insert a clean finger without pain.

Beat 2 tablespoons of bought yogurt in a bowl till smooth, then slowly pour on the warm milk, stirring to combine.

Wrap the bowl in a bathroom towel and leave somewhere warm, like the top of a modest radiator, for 8 hours or overnight to thicken.
