Scandinavian specialties

Here are a few suggestions of where to find some Scandinavian treats aside from smoked salmon.

For tins of Swedish cookies, some great flavored cod's roe and salmon pastes in tubes, lingonberries and good frozen Swedish meatballs, go to the small section beyond the cash registers at IKEA in Potomac Mills and College Park.

Wagshal's, 4845 Massachusetts Ave NW, 202 363 0777, also sells jars of lingonberries.

Andrea Rowe is DC educated but now in the other Washington, running an international food store that carries Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Dutch and German foods. Check out the products of Marina Market on http://marinamarket.com or call on 1 888 728 0837.
