Share Our Strength chefs' cook out!

When you next feel hungry, consider some of America's kids. Share Our Strength does. It's a nationwide community of chefs, activists, food programs and people in the wide culinary field working to try and ensure no child in America grows up hungry. On Thursday 15 May, Chef Charlie Palmer is hosting Share Our Strength’s A Tasteful Pursuit at his restaurant Charlie Palmer Steak at 101 Constitution Avenue, NW, in downtown D.C. Six other prime chefs will be cooking alongside him.

He'll be cooking a five-course meal with wines, along with some of the area's top chefs. There'll be Jeffrey Buben of Bistro Bis, R.J. Cooper of Vidalia, Roberto Donna of Galileo and Bebo Trattoria, Todd Gray of Equinox, Matt Hill of Charlie Palmer Steak, Brian Voltaggio - who left Charlie Palmer Steak to open his open Volt Restaurant - and James Beard 2006 Best Chef Southwest, Bradford Thompson.

If that's not enough, when you've finished the dinner you can tuck into desserts on the rooftop terrace overlooking the U.S. Capitol. They're being created by prime pastry chefs Jason Andelman of Artisan Confections, Ann Amernick of Palena, Beverly Bates of Bistro Bis. Norman Messer from TenPenh and Ceiba, Melanie Parker from Equinox and Courtney Goldian of The Willard Room.

Lexus is main sponsor while The Balvenie, Scotland's premier single malt Scotch whisky is sponsoring a pre-event reception with whisky tastings.
